{"id":27,"date":"2026-04-17T15:02:41","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T15:02:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hussainalnowaisuae.com\/?p=27"},"modified":"2026-04-21T16:26:05","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T16:26:05","slug":"khalifa-fund-creating-a-stronger-system-for-emirati-innovators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hussainalnowaisuae.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/17\/khalifa-fund-creating-a-stronger-system-for-emirati-innovators\/","title":{"rendered":"Khalifa Fund: Creating a Stronger System for Emirati Innovators"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The UAE has established itself as one of the global financial hubs and is in the midst of major economic development as it continues to industrialize and innovate.&nbsp; The Khalifa Fund for the Enterprise Department has begun discussing methods of helping small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).&nbsp; Right now, the leading idea is an incubator program to help Emirati innovators receive the financial support needed to give them the resources to develop their ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairman of the fund, <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20251016162259\/http:\/\/www.thenational.ae\/business\/industry-insights\/khalifa-fund-considers-incubator-programme-for-emirati-innovators\">Hussain al Nowais, believes the development of SMEs across the UAE is important to the economic future and stability of the country. <\/a>&nbsp;He commented on the fund saying \u201cThe fun is currently working on developing a vision for those incubators and the mechanism of action, the services and facilities to be provided by the beneficiaries\u2019 sectors including finance\u201d.&nbsp; The Khalifa Fund is also in the midst of discussions with other potential partners from the investment and education sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"197\" src=\"https:\/\/hussainalnowaisuae.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Screenshot_20260417_110212-300x197.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hussainalnowaisuae.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Screenshot_20260417_110212-300x197.png 300w, https:\/\/hussainalnowaisuae.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Screenshot_20260417_110212-768x503.png 768w, https:\/\/hussainalnowaisuae.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Screenshot_20260417_110212.png 975w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently the fund is developing digital services that will allow interested in entrepreneurs to electronically submit their projects.&nbsp; The aim is for this service to be completed by next year.&nbsp; The incentives being offered to Emirati owners of SMEs will not just come from the fund though, the Federal Law #2 which was approved by Sheikh Khalifa, President of the UAE last year has provisions for providing funding.&nbsp; As it stands only about 3% of the government\u2019s overall loans go to SMEs which is startlingly low, but is set to increase in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20251016162259\/http:\/\/www.thenational.ae\/business\/industry-insights\/khalifa-fund-considers-incubator-programme-for-emirati-innovators\">Hussain al Nowais has discussed how important SMEs are important to the UAE<\/a>; they provide roughly 86% of the jobs in the private sector.&nbsp;&nbsp; The current belief in the UAE is that the total contribution to the economy of SMEs will rise form 60% to 70% by 2020.&nbsp; This is a large increase in the next five years which means providing them with better financial support is critical.&nbsp; If the incubator program is able to go into effect many SME entrepreneurs will have a higher chance of success.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UAE has established itself as one of the global financial hubs and is in the midst of major economic development as it continues to industrialize and innovate.&nbsp; The Khalifa Fund for the Enterprise Department has begun discussing methods of helping small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).&nbsp; Right now, the leading idea is an incubator [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-27","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
